Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change

This project is concerned with enhancing food security in the context of the modification of floodplain functionality as a result of hydrological regime due to climate change, and changes in upstream water management such as dam construction.

Major issues contributing to vulnerability in the area include: flooding, modified flow regime due to dams, extreme rainfall events, deforestation and migration to urban areas.

The project seeks to improve the capacity of community based organisations to deal with these changes, and evaluate possible adaptation options.
