Growing Urban Water Demand Partially Met By A Water Recycling Scheme

Rapid urban development in El Dorado Hills generates increasing water demands

The El Dorado Hills community has grown exponentially in the past ten years, driven by the desire for a higher quality of life in the attractive semi-rural environment, with people migrating into the county from nearby large metropolitan areas. This continuing growth represents a challenge for water services in the face of a changing climate. The outdoor water use of this community is largely served by a water recycling system managed by El Dorado Irrigation District (EID).
