Regional Engagement Manager
I am a Regional Engagement Manager (Africa) at the C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF). I work across the cities in the CFF's network to facilitate engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, and support knowledge management to accelerate the development and implementation of interventions to adapt and increase resilience to climate change in the region.
I have worked for a number of years in the field of environmental management and climate change, notably on several projects ranging from climate finance to improving energy access in rural parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. In the past, I have coordinated the GIZ-funded Africa Low Emissions Development Strategies (LEDS) Partnership (AfLP), which is the regional platform for delivering LEDS work on the continent. Under the AfLP, I led a successful African Mini-Grids Community of Practice which consisted of senior level government officials across 15 countries working towards meeting national clean energy targets through decentralized energy systems. I have also previously worked in the fields of ecosystem-based and community-based adaptation in Southern, Central and West Africa.
I am from Mauritius and currently reside in Cape Town, South Africa. I hold an MSc in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town. I majored in food security with my thesis focusing on the lived experience and drivers of a rapidly changing food system. I am currently completing a postgraduate programme in financing and deploying clean energy at Yale.
