Ashish is a civil engineer with an advanced degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, UK. He is a Commonwealth Scholar and issues of built environment and sustainability are what appeal to him because of their challenging demands, rigorous research involved and endeavour to meet the cutting edge technology while contributing towards sustainable development.
Currently, he is working on a project 'Promoting cool roof and passive ventilation concepts for Indoor temperature comfort', which is being implemented in Indore and Surat in India. Prior to joining TARU, he was associated in the capacity of National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Coordinator - Public Heath Engineer with Oxfam India and managed a team which worked relentlessly towards the implementation of disaster and ethnic conflict responses in Assam and West Bengal. He has worked closely with organisations like UNICEF, NDMA, NDRF, International NGOs and public and private sector players.
Ashish has a rich experience in Water and Sanitation, Green Buildings and Sustainability and Climate Change subjects. Coming from an engineering background, he has substantial training, experience and knowledge in project management and execution, monitoring and evaluation, research and report writing and a good understanding of environment and sustainability work.
